Grades
By Judy

Clip to ScrapBook
I am not sure about the legal aspects of changing the grades but my principal has this rule for first semester also. We changed all grades lower than 60 to a 60 on the report card for the first semester only. The grade has an "M" beside it on the report card so the parent will know that it was modified to a 60. His thoughts behind this is that an F is an F. However, starting this semester if the student gets a 16, we give it to him/her. I teach 6th and they have a semester to get themselves in gear and after that they are on their own. I am not tenured so I do what I am told and smile. I have another year and then I can tell them all what I really think.
