California needs teachers
By Michelle

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi! I'm in northern CA, and I know we need teachers. Southern CA is especially desperate; however, don't plan on the tony areas. In No. CA, it is very expensive to live here, and I moved here from the East Coast. So.
CA is cheaper, but there are negatives like classroom crowding, testing, and behavioral management.

I work in a great district and am paid decently, but I do have to pay for my benefits. Many CA schools in the South usually pay for benefits. Taxes are high. Sales taxes are 8.85%. My electricity bill for a studio apartment with one person was $108. last month. That's a lot for one

person. It's not like I'm running around flipping on the lights and playing a stereo, running a dishwasher and DVD. I have only one room and a few appliances.

I have heard lots of bad things about North Caroline, Las Vegas, and Washington state. Many states are in serious debt, millions, so education is being cut. Libraries are severly understaffed. Schools in Oregon are reducing the number of days students have to report in order to save money. It's crazy.

Good luck!
