Pregnancy By Julianne

You can just say, "The doctor isn't quite sure. He (or she) thinks maybe mid May, but I'm hoping for earlier than that." This gives you the whole month of May to fudge in and you don't have to announce an exact due date.| Remember, it's nobody's business but yours. If someone tries to pin you down, you just keep repeating the same line over and over - "We're really not sure." "No, they didn't give us a specific date." "We won't know more until closer to May." Etc, etc, etc. Anyone who would pursue this beyond your general answer has very bad manners and doesn't deserve an answer, does she? My experience | | comes from announcing (with great confidence) that our first baby would be born on October 12th. I quit work on the first of October and went home to wait it out. (Yeah, I know most moms to be now work up until the first labor pain, but 19 years ago it was pretty common to quit a couple of weeks early. Besides, my ankles were swelling up to the size of grapefruits!) Anyway, on October 26th my boss called to see when I would be ready to come back to work. I had to report that I certainly wasn't ready to come back yet as I was still waiting for the d--- baby! He wasn't born until the 27th. I learned that babies come when they come and people will ask you the most personal questions without thinking twice about how private your answer could be. Good luck with your pregnancy and your new baby. It's a wonderful time.
