This reminds me of what I did when my own two primary age children were bickering. I would send them to another room TOGETHER and told them they could come out when they could get along. It usually only took a few moments and they would come out giggling and whatever the fuss was about was over. It seems when they had no audience their fight lost its momentum. It was simple and very effective. No hurt feelings or stress.
