lesson plans
By MA

Clip to ScrapBook
When I first started teaching 27 years ago, my principal required that we turn them in every week and then she graded us on them! So ever since then, I'm in a different school and many principals later, I still do fairly
detailed lesson plans. For me it keeps me organized and on a sort of schedule. There are still lots of arrows, scribbling out, and notes to self about what worked, etc., but it helps me to organize my thoughts for the day and week. I also keep my plan books from year to year. I have a large stack! I can track where I am at, and what I did last year or years before that I may or may not want
to do again. Sometimes I do a unit one year that I don't do again for awhile and it's nice to refer back to. It's almost like a teaching journal or diary for me!
