rotations
By Brooke

Clip to ScrapBook
A lot of the teachers at the school in which I am student teaching use "rotations". The students move to a new station every 30 minutes. There are four stations set up. 1. reading groups with the teacher, 2. math 3. seatwork
4. stations. The students go to all of these rotations everyday. The class is divided into four groups(by reading ability) The teacher teaches an opening lesson( goes over math concept, phonics, etc.) The teacher then explains each rotation. There are about 6 different things to do within the stations rotation. The students do one thing each day in this station. The teacher
determines this by rotating the students' name after they complete that station. The class spends about two hours on rotations in the morning and it covers most of their instructional time in math and reading and phonics.
