Play Dough Economics Is....
By Jen

Clip to ScrapBook
I got a manual this summer when I took a grad class on Teaching Social Studies. I've read through it and it looks pretty cool. Every lesson stresses an economic concept and you use play dough to reinforce the idea. For
example, the first lesson is about goods and services. We talk and discuss it then the students get play dough and have to make a good or a service. The second lesson they make a good and then tell me what natural, human, and capital resource they would need to make that good. It goes on from there. The last lesson is about capital resources and assembly lines. They use the play dough
and make hamburgers. Concepts like scarcity and opportunity cost are covered too.

I just wondered if anyone had ever used it before for some management ideas! I'll let you know how it goes!
