great books!

You just have to read "The Watson's Go to Birmingham". This book makes the kids giggle like crazy! I love reading it everytime too!! Although it is a hilarious book, the end has a bit of a history lesson about the Birmingham Church bombings. My last class was very interested in learning more, and we found lots of information online and in the Spike Lee movie "4 Little Girls"Another great one is "Because of Winn Dixie". It is a very sweet book about a girl and her dog. The kids love it even more when I add different voices to the well developed characters.
