isolated in Spedland
By Walter F. Gloshinski

Clip to ScrapBook
Isolation is a common problem and plays a big role in sped teacher burnout. I teach at the MS level and have about 10 reg ed students act as helpers throughout the day. I have also created a business that sells homemade bagels, pretzels, and muffins, on campus and to the surrounding downtown community. Before I started these things(and a lot of others), students would ask me in the hall who I was. I was isolated. We are now a huge part of the school community and at least 50 kids say hi to me each day! Do you have a kitchen or access to one at your site? I have lots of ideas to get you more integrated on your campus. Feel free to email at home gloshap.net

A good sped forum is teachers.net They have a good sped forum. Keep reaching out! Walter
