Child moving

I have had to say goodbye to many sweet children after teaching for 30 years and I still feel sad to have to part with any one of them. In a short time they certainly become part of a classroom family.
One thing that always gets a big smile and allows the others to join in is a shirt. I purchase a shirt or sweatshirt with our school name and the children sign a brief message to their friend. We wrap it up, along with some stamped and addressed postcards, and some pretty special home made cards. The moving child gets a great piece of clothing and some reminders to keep in touch. The remaining children are assured that they will be remembered by a very special friend.
