"Allow me to play devil's advocate here...we modify, adapt, help, and make allowances(most of us do anyway) for the students and then the real world hits them and they can't cope. There are no modifications and adaptions in the real world."

Hallejuah!!!! I couldn't agree more that we do so much adapting, etc. that these kids can't adjust as life hits them in the face. I think some parents try too much to shelter their kids when it comes to certain assignments because they only want them to feel successful. Don't we learn more from our mistakes then our successes???
