Working during holidays

Happy New Year everyone!! It's nice to know across the seas most teachers are the same and spend holiday time back at school "fixing up their room". I am in Aus. and presently we are on our summer holiday. I have already
been back to school the next working day after we broke up, (20th Dec) along with four other teachers, and before the end of the holiday will go back again, along with most of the staff of 43!!! We have to ring the custodian on his mobile to let us in as he locks himself in after being attacked a few years ago. This works well if you have a mobile of course.
I agree with other posters

one gets through so much when distractions are removed and I always feel I have accomplished so much after spending a few hours at "work" cleaning up/preparing for the next year/term. Non teaching friends never understand! Happy 2003 everyone!
