I had the same experience a few years ago. I had a child who's family seemed to get lice at least 5 times per year.

My daughter was in my class, too. I got lice, and she did too. 2 other students besides "lice head" (sorry, no negative responses...it's a VENT) also got lice.

I lost 2 days from work, and lots of money on treating my daughter and I, and laundering everything !

I don't know why parents send their kids in even when they know they have lice. In the case of my student, I'm sure that finances were a problem.
