I agree

I do agree that the students will not be interestd in doing the work if they know that it won't be graded. In our school, we should give everything some sort of grade. We have something called an effort grade. That is
where the grade is usually recorded. I have brought it to some of the teachers attention that it would be wise to leave work that they are on at the time. For example in math if they are working on fractions, leave a lesson that pertains to that, not a lesson on subtraction. They have brought up a good point though about leaving review work. Here, we have the FCAT. They suggested leaving
FCAT practice work. MOst subs do hate just worksheets, and that was another point that I brought up. So what we decided to do is leave it up to each teacher on what she wants to leave. Wether it be current work, review or FCAT practice, it will all count as either a reagual daily work grade or an effort grade.

Hopefully this will be real helpful to subs, and so far the teachers who have already had their folders approved, have gotten great feedback from subs. We do however need to work on location of materials in the classroom. Most teachers are organized, but some aren't. They are just going to have to be responsible enough to do so.
