I also work in an inner city school

I just started working in an inner city school last week. I was shocked to see how these kids have no classroom supplies. I went out and bought a gross of pencils and gave these students pencils. I also have had to buy paper, folders, glue, scissors and other needed materials. This is the basics for school. I also have brought in crackers and pudding snacks because these kids are coming to school with no food in the morning. I have not seen any clothing issues yet. As a matter a fact the kids are coming in tommy hilfger, nike, and gap clothing but they do not have the food and the basic school supplies. It is sad to see where the prioritites are in some families.
