Student Teaching
By Brooke

Clip to ScrapBook
I am almost finished with my degree. I will student teach in Jan. and graduate in May. We have had to take 4 practicums before we student teach. Each practicum was 80 hours in the classroom. I found it interesting to
observe the teachers teaching to get new ideas. I also liked to go to other classrooms in various grade levels to observe their teaching styles. Many times I worked with students one on one, small groups, or a whole group lesson. I played games with the students, read books, taught lessons, etc. I was very involved in the classrooms that I was in. I reccomend going on fieldtrips, becoming
friendly with the other teachers, pricipal, and other staff members. I also think it is good to get experience in the library and attend parent/teacher conferences and faculty meetings. Make the most out of your practicum experiences. It is a long road ahead, but believe it or not the time flies by and you will be done before you know it.
