clean up time
By CRP

Clip to ScrapBook
I personally think that 20 minutes to clean up after school is too much time, but if you feel comfortable doing it then go for it. Sometimes I will stay an extra 5 or 10 minutes to write a note or pick up the room if it is needed. I must admit I am one of those subs that leave when the bell rings, because I have a part time job that I need to get to.

I try to pick up the room and keep organized throughout the day. If I see that the room is getting messy, I have the students stop and take a minute or two to clean up. I also write my note (when it is possible) throughout the day. This tends to work best with middle school and high school. Sometimes students in the elementary grades tend to need more of my time and attention.
