Nancy's right...
By Mrs. O

Clip to ScrapBook
I always have the students spend the last few minutes of the day picking up, but I do spend additional time after they leave to make sure that the classroom looks especially good. Some teachers do not require the students
to pick up at all so it is hard to get them to do a satisfactory job cleaning. I pick up the slack because the way the classroom is left is a reflection on me. If I find a pencil on the floor, I do pick it up. I probably wouldn't if I was the regular teacher, but I simply don't want the teacher to hear about a messy room from the janitor or see it for her/himself. Besides, in the schools
I sub in the papers and pencils wouldn't be thrown away. I say, leave the classroom looking better than how you find it. It doesn't take long and it makes you look good!
