Volunteer help
By Monika

Clip to ScrapBook
Hello...I too am fortunate to have many parent & student volunteers to help out on a regular basis. I have a Volunteer Box that I (try to) keep well stocked. Anything from cutting pictures for centers, laminating, and a looong
list of general thing of things for them to do, like: sharpen pencils, water plants, file folders, read with a child, take a child to the library, clean computers, etc. I also drop cards in the box with a child's name & a concept they need extra help with (like number recognition, rhyming, etc). So by this point in the year the volunteers feel very comfortable just coming in, checking
the box & getting to it! It takes some work to set it up, but it's worth it! Also, get a good center resource book & mark center games you woul dlike for them to make. For me, the extra 1 on 1 help with specific skills was the best! Hope that helps...
