transitions
By Monika

Clip to ScrapBook
Successful transitions take time & practice but they are oh so necessary! This year one of the weekly jobs is "the gong". We have a small gong in the classrrom and each week a child has the job of ringing it at transition times. The trick is, they freeze when they hear it...then listen to directions...and unfreeze when they hear it again. It's simple, but works. We played games dancing & freezing with the gong earlier in the year. And the kids LOVE to have the job of the gong! You could easily use a triangle, rhythm sticks, rainstick, bells, etc.
