figurative lang

I just did a great project at computer lab with my students using figuritive lang. We read the story Cross Country Cat which had great lang and illustrations. Then we talked about how you could compare the winter day with real life things. So our theme was winter and we started out like this:Winter is _______as __________. Some of the ideas were
Winter is as gray as a squirrel, as yummy as hot cocoa, as long as a snake. Then the students illustrated their sentence. This was for a grade one lesson.
