Recess
By No Job

Clip to ScrapBook
My middle school enjoys a rotating drop alternating A/B schedule. The sixth grade utilize the A/B portion allowing them to alternate days between PE and other allied arts. The seventh and eighth grades have PE for a semester
or so then rotate out to allied arts.

The rotating drop schedule means that each day we have six out of seven classes. So if today we have classes 1,2,3,4,5,6 tomorrow we'll have 7,1,2,3,4,5 and the next day 6,7,1,2,3,4 etc. It allows us to see the students at different times however it is quite difficult for ESL students.

I have never worked at a middle school with recess although

the last one I was at allowed the students to go outside after they ate until their lunch period was over, seeing as I'm in MN, the kids are pretty cabin bound early and a recess might be nice but it would be too difficult to fit it in.
