I don't think it is ok for parents to call you at home. You have every right to tell the parent that you need your family time. Maybe tell her that you're so tired at the end of the day that you could better discuss issues with her at school until a certain time (like 4:00). I always have parents asking me to call them at home on the weekends, and I won't even do that unless I feel it is necessary. Parents need to make an effort to reach their child's teacher during the teacher's work hours. It is not necessary for you to "spoon feed" everyone and cater to their schedule. It's all about respect. If it's that important, the parent will find a way to adjust his/her schedule to meet with you during your work hours. This may sound harsh, and I know that the children are extremely important, but so are teachers. They need their time off too in order to be normal.
