    I don't think testing 4 year olds is a good idea at all. They really are too young. I used to teach preschool to 3 and 4 year olds. I agree with Kristina below that if you ask a question to a 4 year old and ask it again a couple minutes later you will get a completely different answer. I believe that preschool programs are a time for children to learn through play, and schools just don't seem concerned about it at all anymore. I believe that all schools care about nowdays is their test scores.
    I don't have any children of my own yet, and I'm still in college. I'm just going by my own school experience. I went to school in Texas, and I can remember teachers going on and on about the TAAS test. I didn't think that test measured much. I still don't see why kids have to pass a standarized test to be promoted or to graduate from highschool. Some people just don't do well on tests, but can excell in other areas.
