I also would not want a person who is suffering from untreated depression to teach my children. If they are being treated and are doing well, then I'd be more than happy to have them teach my kids. Depression isn't about "having yourself together" like someone who simply can't hack things. It's a biological condition. It's also illegal to fire someone because of it. What I am trying to say is that I think they were wrong in taking your job. They should have allowed you a leave of absence to seek medical attention and then given you your classroom back. They would have if you were having a baby, a hysterectomy, or anything else medical. If, however, a person who suffers from depression does not want help, then they should lose their job since they wouldn't be able to persorm. Mrs. O
