When I was on my last student teaching experience, my mentor would not let me teach unless I had finished the following weeks plans by Thursday morning. She was also quite blunt with any problems she had regarding my work| etc. None of them were major, but it would stop me in my tracks and I would then sort myself out. Perhaps you find it hard to be brutally direct (age difference - whatever) but the style in which you wrote your post is quite gentle, so I think you should address your concerns directly to your student teacher. (eg. You have no concerns about her being a capable teacher, but to meet the | | requirements of this assignment she needs to....) I believe in dealing with the person directly, there is no confusion later on - where she could say "..but you didn't tell me."
