Go back to the basics. I have the students do the problems on their own, they then have to come up and explain it. If they can explain to someone then they really know it. Have them go over as many problems as they can stand. Bring real life into the class. I let them know where they will be using what ever it is I am teaching them outside of the classroom. Good Luck.
