How about making a bird feeder with the pine cones? Spread peanut butter all over the pine cone and then roll in bird seed. Hot glue a ribbon with a tied bow at the top to hang the bird feeder up. Take a smaller pine cone, dip it in glitter, add some small plastic berries and hot glue it to the middle of the bow. Tell the kids to hang it outside on their favorite tree.
