crafts/ Christmas pencil cans
By teachingranny

Clip to ScrapBook
I like to make pencil cans. I spray paint them at home and cut pieces of fabric from several colors and styles of Christmas prints.During the year, I collect braid, raffia, ribbons, buttons ,etc. I bring all of the items to
school and show several creative examples. I find that Elmer's craft glue works well to glue the fabric. Students enjoy making the craft and since it is a holiday item, every year parents will take the item out of the decorations box with fond memories.

Also, Walmart and K-mart usually have unpainted ornaments at 3/$1.00. You can paint with acrylics, water color, or use magic markers.Dip

the painted ornaments in a bit of glitter and attach shimmery braid for hanging. Put their name and year on the back. Another treasured keepsake for pennies! .
