Myths By jhassett

I have done myths in the past and have a number of neat ideas. 1. We write stories that we call EVEN GODS HAVE BAD HAIR DAYS. We research the 12 "big" shots (main gods/desses)and then brainstorm a list of common middle| school problems that the studetns could have. We brainstorm a list of possible solutions too. Then we write stories about a chosen god/dess and a middle school problem they are having. Example: Athena wakes up with a HUGE zit on her face and it is picture day. How would she solve this? ANother example: Zeus is being bullied in the lunchroom and has his lunch money stolen. 2. We make | | up our own constellations, draw them out on black paper, then use a pin to punch holes along the lines. We then write stories about how our constellations came to be and show our constellations on the overhead (the holes make it appear on the screen)3. We wrote letters to Zeus because a god or goddess was retiring and we wanted to apply for their job. 4. We made a fip book of mythological creatures. 5. We read versions of Hercules then watched the Disney version. Then we compared the print and video versions. I hope this helps some. Please email me if you need more clarification. I am in DESPERATE need of Reader's Theatre scripts about Greek Myths. Happen to know any?
