We also have a wonderful principal!!!!! As far as lesson study goes at our school (and/or in our district), I think it is simply that the idea has not take shape yet. I heard about lesson study from the Math Academy I participate in with our State Department in the summer. At our school, we have a terrific team of ten fourth grade teachers who do a really good job sharing ideas, writing units of study together, discussing what works and what needs revision, etc. I think we would make a great team for lesson study. It's incredible to think that you've all been trained by someone who's been a part of the process in Japan!!!! I am sooooooo jealous!!!! I hope you can get another study going. Let me know how it goes.
