good book!
By Rebecca

Clip to ScrapBook
When I do novels, I usually give my third graders vocabulary words from each few chapters (depending how long the chapters are). I pull skills from the curriculum and incorporate them into the novel study. We usually do a book project at the end of a novel.

This book you chose is wonderful. I have never used this book with my third graders but my son did a book project on it in fourth grade. I also read it to a fourth grade class once.

I don't do the traditional book reports. Instead I have them do a project to share with the class(diorama, cereal box ad, mobile, float, etc.) They really enjoy them!

Enjoy your novel!
