Money, money, money
By Grace

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi Leah,
I find my kids enjoy when I put up a restaurant menu (made up of course). I then ask a child to choose two things from the menu. The others are the people serving and they have to find out the cost.
You can
decide how to go on from there. You could divide into teams for this. First team with correct answer gets two points. All other teams with correct answer get one point.
If you have brighter children, you could stretch that group by getting them to make a choice of three items to total, while the others are totalling two items.

You could go on from there by having play money. When

the total is worked out, each team has to produce the correct money to get an extra point.

Next step would be that each team has no coins, just bills to pay for the choice of food.
1.They have to go to their central bank (money container)
2.Change their bill into coins.
3.Put what they have to pay on one side.
4.Put what is left of the dollar on the other side(change).
You award points for each step correctly carried out.

I hope you can understand all this. I've just read it over and even I am a bit confused.
Grace
