Writing
By Grace

Clip to ScrapBook
Collette, I love your idea of everyone having their own spot to put their writing.
I have also used writing lists as a useful exercise which can also be incorporated with dictionary work.
ideas include- a list of food
I like, food I don't like
a list of ten(more or less) types of fruit, animals, games, sports etc.
Also, simple poetry, giving the first verse and letting them make up their own
If I were a princeI'd say
Give my socks a rinse.

If I were a dog I'd say
............................

If i were a cow I'd say
......................

Make up your own verses finishing with
But

because I am me I say
.........................

Another good poetry one, especially for display is a non rhyming one entitled Sounds
The louder the sound, the bigger the font so that it looks right too,
Example (Except I can't change the font size).

Silence,
People whispering, mice squeaking,
Fingers tapping, children talking,
Babies crying, telephones ringing,
WORKMEN DRILLING, FIREWORKS EXPLODING,
people laughing, water bubbling,
clock ticking, leaves rustling,
Silence
