Go the distance!

Put as much professional distance between you and this destructive device as fast as possible. I would jsut shrug it off. Making a big deal out of it will only make the situation worse, and could have negative consequences towards you~ you could be seen as in on it with the other teacher. If any parents question you about it, make it very clear that this teacher's opinions are solely her own, and in now way relfect your personal or professional opinions. Then change the subject back to the student.
