I kept my "bubble blowers" in for recess for 3 days. Some parents contacted me because of the lost recess times, but others were contacted. Overwhelmingly the parents thought it was funny! Two said, "well, I remember doing that in school too." I think I'm finally seeing the light about what I should rightfully expect of them in terms of behavior. All week I've been telling them that I have the right to expect them to act like ten. I'm so tired of them acting like 3 years olds--sucking on waterbottles as if they're babies, talking during read alouds, playing in the bathroom. For the most part these kids are good but when you have a week when so many are acting childish you just feel ready to scream.
