Names

Clip to ScrapBook
Jen,

I always hope the teacher has a seating chart. If so, I always state up-front that anyone not in the seating chart (some like to switch for a sub.) has 30 seconds to get back. I've learned to set the record straight right away with middle schoolers so as to try to avoid the seating switches, etc.

Unless I am in a class several times I cannot easily learn names. I do sub. quite a bit for specials (LD/ED, etc.) and know most of them since the class size is smaller.

I'd be reluctant to use tent cards as I suspect middle schoolers would toss them or do as you say. As much as I'd like to know all the names I place my priorities on finding all the teacher resources, etc.

Best, Ken
