Hi! If you have some old catalogues or store ads around, you could give the children an assignment where you give them $1000 and they have to buy presents for their whole family. They need to figure out the price and tax. Also, what I have done in the past is to gather grocery store fliers. If you can get a bunch of the same one, give the children a list of math questions of, for example, How much would it cost to buy 4 boxes of cookies? You could also tell them they have a certain amount of money and they have to plan and buy the food for a family dinner. I also have used the fliers to plan what furniture they would buy in their dream house. Hope these ideas help!
