I would agree with the first response. This sounds like resource in our district too. Although I would love it if the classroom teachers only had 22 students how wonderful. We have around 30-UGH. I also agree with the teacher who has to cancel class sometimes for meetings and other things. I run into the same problem and then you face not meeting minutes. As a resource teacher you do need to have a special education teaching certificate. Although I do know that in some states emergency status will be given to someone with a regular teaching certificate because of teacher shortage in special education. This regular education teacher must take classes though to further her knowledge in special education.
