writer's workshop
By Jim MacCall

Clip to ScrapBook
My first grade students begin writing on the first day of school They usually begin by writing about "things they know" in other words about their families, trips, things that happen to them.
By this time, November, some of the students are beginning to write "fantasy" stories. For example, right now the character of "SuperCheese" has become very big. He's a piece of cheese that's a super man like character! Don't ask me where they got this one! :-) would be happy to talk about the writing workshop in my classroom with anyone!
