Hi! I am currently filling an Art position. What I had my students do was create an Art book. I listed various topics and the children had to choose 10 of them to complete. If they wanted to do more, they could. Below are
the ideas I gave them.
Art Assignment
Choose 10 of the topics below to draw. On each page, put a title, your name and the date. Include a table of contents. All pictures must be coloured! Number each of the pages. When handing in the assignment, include a cover.
1. Draw 10 things that the colour red reminds you of.
2. Draw your greatest fear.
3. Draw things that

6. Be an ant- describe and draw what you would see.
7. If you had a candy bar named after you, what would it look like and what would it be called?

9. Using any type of line or shape, create a picture with only the 3 primary colors. (red, blue, yellow)
10. An alien spaceship has landed in the schoolyard. Draw a picture of it.
11. Draw a picture of your Mother or Father at work.
12. Draw a picture of your shoe, overlapping three different views on the same page.
13. Draw a picture of your pet.
14. Draw a picture of yourself as you think you might look in ten years.
15. Draw a picture of your favorite part about school.
16. What does your dream car look like?
17. A new musical group has asked you to design a CD cover for them that illustrates their music. Be sure that your design is original and does not use any other group's images!
18. Draw a picture of your dream house. You are rich, so include anything you want in this house.
19. Draw a necktie and design an interesting pattern on it.
20. You are a toy designer; draw your new toy.
21. Draw a picture of yourself the way you will look 20 years from now.
22. Draw a comic strip with your own characters.
23. Design new methods of transportation.
