Teacher perks
By Renee

Clip to ScrapBook
When I was a kid my teachers drank, chewed, and ate whatever they wished, and we didn't think a thing about it. There are many rules for kids that don't apply to adults because adults can moderate and make better choices.
Discreetly chewing gum is not a horrible thing. I drink my Diet Cokes every day and I do not feel that it is unjust. I went through five years of college and now grad. school, and deal with a highly stressful job. If I want a Diet Coke, I have earned that right. How can you say adults should follow all of the same rules as kids? Should we raise our hand to speak? Do we need to get
permission to go to the restroom? No, because we can tell when it is appropriate. Kids cannot. I guess I don't understand why you are so angry. There are many more injustices to kids than the teacher chewing gum.
