Self contained and alone
By Al

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi. I too am self contained, although there are many other self contained classes in the building. (We are an odd school - 20% of our students are spec. ed. and 10% of those are severe and profound.)
I have spent 3 years
here, 6th of teaching and gone through what you are going through - or at least close. My kids are severe and profound - 2nd & 3rd graders, functioning all below levels of 18 months. I love my job, honest. The kids are great!
I spend a lot of time trying to defend why my students SHOULD be in ther classes. I guess my long term goal is to put myself oout of a job. :-)
I am also
ALWAYS snooping for lesson ideas because I get bored easily and there are so few things that I can make meaningful to my students.
Feel free to contact me to chat more! Hang in there!!!
