I second this advice
By GM

Clip to ScrapBook
I am a mother of two sons, ages 25 and 26. Several years ago, I and my husband had to use tough love with our eldest. He, too, wanted to come back home. We said, "No." It was the hardest thing we have ever done. But
it worked.

I do not feel comfortable divulging the nature of his problem, but I will say it wasn't drugs or alcohol. Besides alcoholism is a symptom of the 'real' problem, not the problem.

Anyway, I would strongly advise rereading Cathy-Dee's advice and considering it. In the end, you must decide what is best, however.

One thing I learned: you can't help someone who isn't ready

to help herself/himself. It's a painful truth. In the process of intending to help an individual, you can diminish everything in your life.

Another thing I learned during that painful process: You have to take care of YOU first. The same principal applies when you are in a airplane that is in trouble. First, you put on YOUR oxygen mask, THEN help persons next to you. If you don't, you will be unable to help others around you.

Trust your instincts and do not make decsions based on fear. Easy to say, yes. Hard to do at times.

My thoughts are with you, GM
