I always have a variety of worksheets on a table for the kids to work on when they are done early with their work. I also put out a few word searches, including those I make up myself (with their weekly spelling words, for example). I usually have about 5 worksheets to choose from. They also have the choice of reading a book quietly. Hope this helps!
