The next step that I would take considering your 2 ring leaders is to have a parent conference. Meet face to face with the parent(s)and lay it out for them about their angel. Ask what works at home and have the parent(s) take some of the responsiblity for their child's action. Make an agreement, put it in writing and have all parties sign including the child. If the parent(s) don't come for a conference ask the prinicpal to send a less than one day suspension letter home. My principal has found that this will get parent(s) in very quickly. Less than one day suspension means that the child can not return to class until the parent comes in for a conference, my principal will sit in on the conference and she asks them why they couldn't find the time before the suspension letter. It's amazing how fast a parent can get off work when they see the word suspension on a piece of paper. You might even have the parents observe their child in action by sitting in the room or better yet watch from outside the room so the child can not see that they are their. I hope this helps in someway. I've been teaching in Memphis for the last five year and this is the first year I can say I have a great class of K students. My other four years were very trying and the parents didn't want to coorporate so I've had to take measures to make them. Two years ago I have 4 major behavior problems and no help from the parents so my principal would suspend them just so the other students could have an opportunity to learn. It's aweful to think of suspending K students but nothing work on these 4 students. They are still giving teachers a major problem even in second grade.
