explorers

Have the kids create a concept map of what an explorer's life was like, what kinds of things they encountered or what they were looking for. Or divide them into groups and have each group do one explorer, then have them present their concept maps to the rest of the class and compare and contrast them with a venn diagram the differences and similarities of all the explorers you have covered. I've done all of these activities and they have worked well.
