I witnessed the incident last year with the fistfight and the poor girl and her little brother sat in the mothers car and watched the whole fight and then watched as she was handcuffed and taken to the police station. The
mother has said that if the girl doesn't listen and doesn't want to learn that maybe I should put her desk out in the hallway. I very calmly told her that I would NEVER do that to a child and that it is also against the law to do so. I believe that fits into the category of corporal punishment. The mother said she would come to school and sit with the girl and then said wouldn't she

be embarrassed then. I told her the way to help her daughter is not to embarrass her, but to help her, but she refuses to see that there is a problem, she just thinks her daughter doesn't want to work. I don't have kids so I don't feel that I have the right to tell anyone how they should discipline their kids. And I know that some people believe in spankings. But there is a definate fear in this girls eyes whenever the mother shows up unannounced or is mentioned. Teachers and the school nurse have called the authorities about this woman. I don't know why she still has these kids.
