writer's workshop

This is my 2nd year teaching writer's workshop. A good book is called "Writer's Workshop". Basically, what I've gathered is if you do not feel inadequate during this time you're probably doing something wrong. It is normal| to have a noisy classroom hoping however that it is somewhat productive noise. I don't do much in revision as they do in the older grades, but it is important to share as partners, small groups or whole group. I have a "celebration" in the Spring with parents on poetry and they think it;s the greatest thing. Don't be too hard on yourself and remember to have different goals for each child | |
as it is a very independent activity. I find keeping short notes during my confernces with the children helps me when I meet with them at future dates.Good luck
