Reply to time-out vs. separated
By Linda

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi There,

I am in teacher's college right now and I am doing my practicum in a grade one class. My host teacher has a chair beside her desk and she calls it the "think chair" (there's actually a label on the chair!). It works wonderfully. When a child is asked to go to the think chair, they know that they were separated b/c they weren't cooperating and she doesn't let them go back to their desk until she's seen that they've reflected upon their behaviour. Works like a charm and it beats sending them to a corner or out in the hall!

Good Luck,
Linda
